Last week the PMC team proved that their wide range of talents knows no bounds when together they baked over one hundred cakes for Great Ormond Street Hospital, our company charity. Head office on Wednesday 15th October morning was transformed into a patisserie of truly Parisian standards – a riot of coloured icing and hundreds of thousands, perfectly risen sponges and a distinctively sweet smell in the air.
…And they sold like hotcakes! Every last baked treat was sold in just one lunch hour to our generous and sweet-toothed associates on Park Farm Industrial Estate, and our dedicated cake testers can confirm that overall sponge quality was excellent, with special commendations being awarded to cupcake decorations.
The big PMC bake off was all in aid of GOSH’s Bake it Better cake baking drive, a nationwide campaign that ran last week in order to raise £125,000 for a new state-of-the-art building on the hospital’s site in North London. This new building will not only provide the required space for further research but also a broader range of facilities and more comfortable accommodation for the hospital’s young patients and their families.
We would like to thank our wonderful staff for donning their aprons – and all neighbouring businesses at Park Farm Industrial Estate for digging deep – last week and helping us raise over £150 for this charity we are so proud to support.
