We’re delighted to share that one of our team members has been playing football to raise funds for our company charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children, and UK Sands, a stillbirth and neonatal death charity.
PMC Polythene’s Production Manager, Sam George, led out the reformed Sunday team Barley FC to play in a charity friendly against Cambridge United – an ex-professional side – on Sunday 10th May. The Cambridge team included ex-pros Danny Potter, Warren Goodhind, Fred Murray, Omer Riza and Neil Mustoe.
Both children’s charities are close to the hearts of several Barley FC players: keeper Matt Peet’s daughter Izabella was treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital and other members of the team have friends who have been helped by UK Sands following the loss of a child.
The charity match held at New Croft in Haverhill, Suffolk raised in excess of £2500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and UK Sands. Congratulations to all who took part and a big hats off to Sam.
